Gehenna:
Wormwood

The end is the beginning…

Gehenna: Wormwood

Rating: R | Skill Level: Experienced

Trigger Warnings: Suicide, Religion, Hallucinations, Bullying, Gore, Emotional Abuse, Depression, Death

Synopsis:

Three Months ago, a Red Star appeared in the sky. Astronomers were baffled, however, to most people its appearance was not noticed due to the current media scandal at the time. Within the supernatural realms, the Red Star affected each on some primal level. Vampires found it harder not to give in to the Beast. Werewolves would rage at the drop of a hat. Paradox was harder to avoid and Contracts would not stay bound. Soon after a woman, Alia arrived in the gatherings of the supernaturals. Her message was that God’s judgment was upon us. She has been chosen to lead the worthy to a new salvation, but only if they can survive the trail of Wormwood.

“Come to the Last Church in New York City, bring only what matters most to you for everything else shall be provided. Come for when Midnight strikes at the closing of October, Wormwood will be upon us.”

While most rebuffed these claims, you have not. It is October 31st of this year. You have deciphered the clues and are approaching the Church, unsure of what is to come.

Inspired by the Vampire: The Masquerade module of the same name, Gehenna: Wormwood is about how a group of supernaturals interact with each other while trapped within the confines of a church during the end of the world. The characters will be tested mentally, psychologically, and emotionally all for the promise of a new world.

Character Requirements:

  • Characters can be made from any of the systems in the Chronicles of Darkness 2e. (Vampire: The Requiem, Werewolf: The Forsaken, Mage: The Awakening, etc.) This includes making a character out of any of the Core CoD Books. (i.e. Normal Mortal, Psychic, Skin Changer, etc)
  • Characters can be any type of playable creature. (I.E. Creatures meant for DMs are Off limits, for example, VII, True Fae, Lich, Angel, etc.).
  • Characters are built on up to 100 Experience in addition to the standard build of the creature you are making.
  • All Merits / Abilities must be chosen from the core system or the system you are making the character from. (I.E. If you are making a Vampire, you can not take Mummy Merits.)
  • Characters must have an item that is important to them.
  • Characters while not necessarily good, must have that glimmer of Love or Hope deep in their soul.
  • This Game is a roleplay-heavy game. While combat can and may happen, it is not the focus of this game.

“ I remember Revelations 6:12…? And I looked, and he opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake.
And the sun became as black as sack cloth, and the moon became as blood.”

“And the seas boiled and the skies fell.”

“ Judgement day.”

“ Judgement day.”
